Dr Ides Wong on 18th century polymath Wang Zhenyi
Ides is a program manager here at the Australian e-Health Research Centre. She hasn’t always worked in digital health, though — she has a diverse background, with professional and personal pursuits spanning both the sciences and the arts.
That’s partly why she was drawn to the story of Wang Zhenyi. The 18th century Chinese scholar defied societal constraints to become an accomplished astronomer, mathematician and poet. She was also a strong advocate for equal opportunities for women.

The Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) is CSIRO's digital health research program and a joint venture between CSIRO and the Queensland Government. The AEHRC works with state and federal health agencies, clinical research groups and health businesses around Australia.
