We’re onto IT for another year – the AEHRC Annual Report 23/24
AEHRC has been a pivotal part of the digital health eco-system in Australia for over two decades.
Having been at the forefront of the development of the technology and tools transforming healthcare digitally, it is satisfying to reach this point in time where artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, genomics and bioinformatics, mobile health and virtual care and our other technologies are taking centre stage in the consideration of health and hospital systems.
The AEHRC Annual Report 2023-24 reflects an epoch in which the seeds sown all those years ago in digital health are fast reaping the benefits and impacts they once only promised.
The report is a collection of the many and varied projects carried out at AEHRC over the past 12 months, chief among them the Federal Government funded Sparked Accelerator and our work with the Australian Digital Health Agency on the National Clinical Terminology Service.
The breadth of our research in imaging featured high in the list of impacts for the year as did our increasing work in supporting digital technology for chronic care, disability and aged care. And we continue to be key partners for clinical research groups and health service providers around Australia.
Most of our outputs are underpinned by a world-class expertise in AI and machine learning, which are also covered in detail in the latest AI Trends for Healthcare Report.
Celebrating the huge successes of his team, David Hansen, CEO and Research Director of AEHRC said, “The scientists, engineers and other specialists who make up team AEHRC have shown enormous energy and commitment to ensure we have delivered on our projects.”
The Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) is CSIRO's digital health research program and a joint venture between CSIRO and the Queensland Government. The AEHRC works with state and federal health agencies, clinical research groups and health businesses around Australia.
