Michael in Manila for interoperability bootcamp
AEHRC’s Michael Lawley, lead of the Health Data Semantics and Interoperability group, this week joined a diverse group of technology developers and vendors, data scientists and healthcare professionals in the Phillipines to discuss all things interoperable.
Though attendees came from all over the globe, they shared a common goal: to improve the way health data is stored and exchanged.
The bootcamp – co-organised by CSIRO and the Standards and Interoperability Laboratory from the University of the Philippines Manila – offered attendees the chance to gain practical experience in digital health standards and interoperability.
On the first of the three jam-packed days, Michael presented an introduction to Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) Terminology. He highlighted the importance of exploring how to implement terminology services within FHIR.
Michael and other FHIR experts were then on hand as attendees participated in group activities and exercises where they flexed their FHIR muscles.
The event was not only a learning experience for all involved, but a valuable opportunity to collaborate, share insights, and strengthen partnerships.
