AEHRC researchers take home awards at the Herston Health Precinct Symposium
Researchers, clinicians, health professionals and consumers from CSIRO’s Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC), the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), the University of Queensland (UQ) and QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute came together over three days.
AEHRC scientists played a key role in the event’s proceedings, with four of our researchers delivering presentations and many others participating as co-presenters or contributors.
Dr Maria Antico kicked things off on Day 1 with her research into developing a fully automated wearable ultrasound imaging platform.
Day 2 of the event was co-chaired by AEHRC’s CEO and Research Director David Hansen. He had the pleasure of introducing Dr Jurgen Fripp and the Queensland Aging and Dementia Study, as well as Dr Kerstin Pannek and her research into using advanced neonatal brain MRI and EEG for prediction of neurodevelopmental outcomes.
Day 3 saw Dr Jessica Rahman present on predicting central line-associated bloodstream infection.
The event was a resounding success for the AEHRC. Jessica Rahman received the highly commended award in the Early Career Research category and Kerstin Pannek took home the highly commended award in the Best Clinical Research Category.
The Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) is CSIRO's digital health research program and a joint venture between CSIRO and the Queensland Government. The AEHRC works with state and federal health agencies, clinical research groups and health businesses around Australia.
